Bulgaria will run for UN Security Council non-permanent member in the two-year period of 2038 – 2039, according to the Council of Minsters’ press centre.

Earlier this week the Bulgarian government revoked a decision for the country’s candidancy for UN Security Council seat in 2018-2019.

The Bulgarian EU presidency in 2018 and the country’s candidacy for member of the Human Rights Council in 2019-2021 are said to be the main reasons for this decision.
